So excited for Dave’s Drop-In Centre on the 21st of May!!!

The fellow formally known as the Divine David is now the amazing David Hoyle and I’m so happy I get to be a guest in his show tomorrow.

Directed by Nathan Evans, this is sure to be another fucked up, loved up, but not to be sucked up show in this series.  I won’t tell you what I’m going to be doing on stage but let it suffice to say that it’s a show for people who are up for just about anything to happen on stage.

Alternative Miss World 2009: a sea of wigs, spangles and megafrocks

Rats in the walls and life goes on…..

There’s a group of determined rats or mice in my walls.  They scratch and scratch and I wonder what they’re trying to get to?  Is it a vermin Shawshank Redemption?  Where are they going?  Is their goal to escape and make a nice home in one of my bags along side the feathers and fringe?

I still haven’t recovered and my shoulders are a little sore from holding up the SUPER heavy sceptre!

Once I have a moment I’m going to actually sit down and try to remember as much as I can about the night and the build up.  Blogging is strange to me still.

I’m Alternative Miss World 2009!

And wouldn’t be without a magical team of people, coffee, cigarettes, booze, no sleep and some seriously long hours of work.

Wreckage built the time machine scultpure skirt thing, Rachel Freire made the costumes, Naomi Blume brought it all together, Maria Cork painted on the gore, Lucifire pulled me up by my hair and it all came together magically.  It’s a really amazing feeling to be acknowledged for our hard work…. if only there was a cash prize to pay for supplies!  Benefactors anyone?

The back stage situation was just about the best people watching, listening, communicating experience ever!  Cardboard ships, green ram people, little Morris dancing girls, queens from every generation, wigs wigs wigs, naked ladies covered in body paint, colored glass glued onto everything, mirror covered Irrepressibles, inflatable costumes, Zandra Rhodes’ mirrors and funny conversations.

I can’t wait for the wrap party/gathering tonight and am so grateful for some sleep!
